Oracle Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, along the Bay Area waterfront

Let me tell you why this place exists. There are a hundred sites that will hand you the box score and a paragraph of nothing, the kind of writing that could have been about any team in any city. That was never going to be enough for the Bay. This corner of the country has produced some of the most absurd, beautiful, heartbreaking sports moments anyone has ever seen, and it deserves to be written about by people who actually care which way it breaks.

So that's the whole idea here. We cover the 49ers, the Warriors, the Giants, the A's, the Sharks, plus Stanford and Cal when they give us a reason to. Not with the fake neutrality of a wire report, and not with the screaming of talk radio either. Just honest takes from someone who has watched enough of these teams to know when the good times are real and when they're borrowed against the future.

Some days that means breaking down a game the night it happens. Some days it means saying out loud what everyone in the building already knows but nobody wants to print, like whether a front office move actually makes sense or whether a beloved player has quietly become a problem. And some days it just means going back to 2014, or 1982, or that one Klay quarter, and reminding ourselves why we got hooked on any of this in the first place.

If you grew up on The Catch, or you cried a little when the Giants finally won one, or you still can't believe the Warriors did what they did, you're in the right spot. Pull up a chair. We're going to argue about all of it, and we're going to have a good time doing it.
